Check Engine Light

There is little that causes more driver concern than the check engine light appearling suddenly on your dashboard.  Now while the issue may not be anything more complicated than a loose gas cap, there may be a more serious engine issue.  Most auto parts stores offer a no cost check engine light diagnosis.  It is IMPORTANT to understand that this code scan only gets you in the ballpark of what is going on.  Your vehicle also needs to be inspected to pinpoint the exact cause and solution to the problem. 

What should you do?  First, relax.  If the light comes on and stays lit you should contact Maple Grove BP at 763-559-9898 and schedule an appointment to have your vehicle inspected.  If the light is flashing that means you have a more serious issue.  If your vehicle is running normally and you don’t notice any other warnings you can carefully drive your vehicle to our location but if it is running rough you will want to arrange a tow to our location.
