Ways to Improve the Life of your Vehicle

When you own a vehicle, you will want it to last as long as possible. A car has many different parts and systems in it and keeping all of them working right is essential to getting maximum power and fuel efficiency from your car. From tires to air conditioning to fluid checks to oil changes, you want to do everything possible to get the maximum value from the money that you spend on gas. If you want to keep your car running as fuel efficiently as possible, you want to keep it in as good of condition as possible. From tire pressure to oil changes to air conditioning to other engine systems, everything comes together into a car that will give you power and help you to get to where you need to be. Inspect the Tires Regularly Keep your tires at the proper pressure level. If your tires has too little or too much air in them, this will affect the handling of your car, which can cause drag on the engine causing you to use much more fuel than you should. Tire air pressure not only helps with your fuel efficiency, however, it also helps to lengthen the life of your tires. This is a maintenance issue that is very simple to take care of, so you want to be sure that you learn how to use a tire pressure gauge to keep your tires at the pressure level that is recommended by the tire manufacturer or us. The Oil will have to be Changed Keep to your oil change maintenance schedule. Your car manufacturer will have a schedule of how often that you need to change your oil. By sticking to that, you will be able to keep all of the engine parts lubricated to make sure that everything works as efficiently as possible. Old oil that is full of dirt and debris or not enough oil can cause your engine to lock up and cause it to have to work harder to keep your car running efficiently, which can impact the fuel efficiency of your car. Keep Cool with Air Conditioning Maintenance Air conditioning service can help it to work better and smarter. If your air conditioning is having issues keeping your car cool and comfortable, this means that it has to work harder. This can make all the difference in how much mileage you get out of the gas that you put into your car. By having your air conditioning system serviced on a regular basis, you will be able to ensure that it has all the power that it needs to keep you comfortable by using less power. This can affect your pocketbook and your comfort level. By having the air conditioner inspected and maintained, you can have a cool and comfortable vehicle when you drive this summer. Anytime you notice any issue with your vehicle, make sure to contact us so we can inspect it. This can help provide you and your passengers with a pleasant driving experience.

The Brake Pads should not be Ignored

The brake system is important for the overall safety and performance of your vehicle. The brake pads are vital to the brake system in your car to enable it to stop. The brake pads are essential to keeping your car safe on the road for not only yourself, but other motorists and people out on the roads. Luckily the brake pads are easy to check and replace if there is ever an issue with them. If you ever notice an issue with the brakes or brake pads, make sure to bring the vehicle in as soon as possible so we can inspect it for you. Locating the Brake Pads The brake pads are located near the tire, between the calipers, rotors and the actual rim of the tire. When you step on the brake pedal in the car, it activates the bakes to squeeze against the inside of the tire rim and cause the tire to stop. The more braking you do in your daily travels, the faster the brake pads will wear down and need replacing in your car. If you ever have a doubt as to the pads left on your car, a technician will be able to measure it and tell you a percentage of the brake pads that are left. Depending on this answer will determine how long you should go before scheduling a brake job with new parts. Issues you may start to Notice Problems can develop in the brake pads just like anywhere else in the car. Since the brake pads and the braking system are exposed to the elements and road conditions more, they are prone to having more issues. A stone could get thrown up in there and cause a bend that makes the brake not work efficiently on one tire. Heavy use could bend the rotors or the calipers and require them to be changed. Then there could be a problem with the tire rim that causes a problem to develop somewhere along the brake line. When you are not sure as to the condition of your brakes, take it to a service center and have an ASE master technician take a look. Brake Pad Replacements There is not really a set time to say all brake pads need to be changed like the oil needs to be changed. Some types of brake pads will last longer than others simply because of their composite. And some people drive differently than others, whether it is foot on the brake or foot on the gas, where they are driving and how long it takes to get there, also affect how a brake pad will wear. Check with the technician who installed the brake pads and see what the average mileage is on the similar brake pads so you have an estimate of how long they will last. If there is every a question as to how long they will last, have them inspected. We can inspect them to let you know how much of the brake pad is still left.

Stay Cool with Air Conditioner Maintenance

When it gets hot outside, it is important to make sure that your vehicle undergoes air conditioning service. This helps to keep you and your passengers cool. The service is intended to maintain the ability of your air conditioning to operate properly. This includes the ability to cool your car quickly and efficiently all throughout the summer months. It also means putting less strain on the rest of the engine when using the air conditioning. If you are noticing that using the air conditioning in your vehicle means that you are getting poor fuel efficiency or that you are not getting as much power when trying to accelerate, it could mean that you need to get your vehicle serviced by an auto service expert. The Wires will be Inspected Modern vehicles have a lot of computer components attached to the operation of different features. The air conditioning system is no different. Most will use an ambient sensor to see exactly what the temperature is outside. This is important to make sure that the air conditioner has the ability to cool the car properly for your comfort. It is also important to regulate the function of the engine. When getting a good air conditioning service, they should be inspecting wires connected to the air conditioning unit. Looking for problems in signals being sent can help the air conditioner to work properly. Knowing how the Engine will Affect the Temperature If the engine is not operating properly, it can affect how well the air conditioner will work. This includes not only the parts of the engine directly related to the air conditioning components. If the engine itself is not being cooled properly, it will translate into the air conditioner not being able to cool the air inside of the vehicle. Additional auto service may be necessary for the vehicle to cool properly. Some engines will use less engine capacity for cooling the air if it recognizes that doing so causes the engine to get hot. Using the right coolants can help to make sure that the engine will stay cool and that the air conditioner can do its job. Bring the Vehicle in for Maintenance Inspections The longer you go without air conditioning service, the more important it is that you get it serviced by a qualified professional. We will need to replace certain components of the air conditioning unit as well as charging the Freon used to cool the air. Most ASE master technicians have the ability to work on your air conditioning. Make sure that you get your air conditioning unit serviced at least every other year. You can always get the Freon checked as part of an air conditioning tune up. Tune ups generally cost less than a service and allow you to go longer without any real problems in your air conditioning system. If you are planning a long summer road trip, make sure that you have had this system worked on. Not only will this increase the fuel efficiency of your vehicle, it will allow you to have a more pleasant drive.

Make sure to go to Regular Maintenances

Maintaining the vehicle is key to keep it in the best working condition. Whenever you are getting your car fixed, there is hardly a more qualified individual to handle the repairs than when you are entrusting your car to ASE master technicians. Of course, you will need to be able to find one you can trust whenever you are taking your vehicle in for auto repair work. There are a few things you should be looking for whenever trying to find a professional to work on your car. This will help you to get better work done on your car and could even mean that you are able to get the help you need so that you will be able to pay less money for your vehicle being fixed. Getting Tips from AAA Some driving organizations like AAA have been known to rate all of the different mechanics you can hire to work on your car. They will recommend certain mechanics so you will be able to take your car to someone you know you can trust. If you are going by these, it is important to find out when AAA rated the mechanic. Not all of the recommendations are sound ones. This is because after getting the recommendation, not all garages will maintain their credibility. You will have to do a little research on your own to find out more about the mechanic. Those who are members will be able to get the latest information as well as information on when the garage was reviewed last by AAA. How we can help Keep your Vehicle working Efficiently There are review sites which will allow you to read all about the mechanic and the work they do. You will be able to discover whether they have the ability to fix small and major problems alike. This will help you to make sure that you are hiring a good mechanic to fix your car. Always make sure that you are reading all of the unbiased reviews so that you can trust what you are reading. Some will try to provide bogus reviews to persuade you to hire a different mechanic. As long as you know that the review is not coming from someone related to any other garages, you will be able to trust what you are reading. Not all car repairs can be conducted in the same way. Some need to be handled by a specialist for certain types of cars. Part of this has to do with the diagnostic codes that are read whenever a scan of the computer is run. These codes give the mechanic clues as to what is going on inside of the engine without having to do any work to find the problem. If the mechanic does not have the machinery to interpret the codes properly, they will not be able to complete the work as promised. Make sure to contact us, and we can schedule an appointment to inspect the vehicle for you.
